Prague Florenc bus station
Florenc is the main bus station in Prague for domestic and international buses. The bus station is located in the city part Florenc which is about 1.5 km from the old town and 2 km from the Charles bridge.
From Florenc bus station you can travel to more or less any city within the Czech Republic as well as to most countries in Europe (see list below of the most popular bus routes to and from Prague.) PLEASE NOTE: not all international buses depart from the Florenc station so pay attention to this when booking a ticket.
The bus station is open from 3 AM to 0:30 AM.
Getting to Florenc bus station:
If you are in Prague it is very easy to get to the Florenc bus station. The metro lines B (Yellow line) and C (Red line) stop at Florenc metro station which is below the bus station. If your are staying somewhere along metro line A (Green line), you have to change to line B or C either at the Museum or the Mustek station, all really easy.
Just outside the bus station there is a bus stop for several city bus lines. In addition, the nearest tram stop is only about 250 metres away so you can basically use all 3 kinds of public city transportation to get to the Florenc bus terminal.
If you need to get from the main train station to Florenc, you can basically walk but it is a bit of a hassle if you carry luggage. A better option is to take the metro; the metro stop at the main train station is called Hlavní nádraží (Central station) which is only one stop away from the Florenc metro station with the C metro line (Red line). The price for a 30 minute public transport ticket (Metro, tram or buses) is only around 1 euro.
Services at the bus station in Prague:
At the Florenc bus station you can find more or less everything you would need as a traveller and this includes:
- Waiting room
- ATM machines and money exchange
- 24 hour open restrooms
- Several fast food places
- Coffee bars
- Minimarket
- Travel agency
- Luggage storage
- Parking
The nearest parking is located by the entrance to the bus station. If you can’t find any parking here, there are several short and long term parking options nearby, just follow the parking signs.
The bus station also operates a hostel which is located a few metres from the bus terminal.
Luggage storage at Prague Florenc bus station:
As mentioned, luggage storage is also available at the Florenc station; it is located in the new terminal building (ppen from 5 AM to midnight), just next to ticket counter number one. At the luggage storage you can deposit regular luggage but no valuables like jewellery or electronics; price per bag per day is 2 Euro.
Buying ticket at Florenc bus station:
In the new terminal building there are around 20 sale counters as well as a billboard with the next departures from the station. As you can see on the photo below, each counter is dedicated to a specific bus company, so before buying a ticket you need to figure out which bus company you are going to travel with.
If you buy your ticket online upfront you can basically go directly to the platform area. The circle formed platform area consists of about 20 numbered platforms, some are in the outer ring while the others are in the centre. If you know which bus company you are travelling with, you should not have any problems finding the right place to wait. If in doubt, you can also ask one of the drivers from the buses which are already parked there, check the billboard in the new terminal building or ask at the information desk.
Other bus stations in Prague:
As mentioned above, not all international buses drive to or from the Florenc bus terminal, some bus companies stop in front of the main train station (Address, Wilsonova 8), so when you plan your bus trip to or from Prague, make sure to check out the exact location of your bus.
Popular departures from Prague Florenc:
Prague – Munich | Prague – Frankfurt | Prague – Berlin |
Prague – Budapest | Prague – Vienna | Prague – Bratislava |
Prague – Zurich | Prague – Ljubljana | Prague – Zagreb |
Hi. Whats the difference between waiting room and restrooms? If I plan on taking night bus that departs at 3am, where can I wait before boarding, preferably inside the terminal. Thanks.
Hi Jane
waiting room, is an indoor facility, where you can sit and wait for the bus, restroom is toilets. If you are driving from Prague Florence you should be able to wait inside the station.

Hi Mari,
the best way from Prague to Nuremberg, well that is hard to say, you have lots of buses and also several trains, so i guess it is more a question of personal preference.

how can i go to there from florenc bus station? thanks
Hi Cerise,
you have to take the B (yellow) line of the Prague Metro. The metro station is within the Florenc Bus Station complex. Once you arrive at Mustek Station, you’ll be in the central area near Wenceslas Square, which is close to hotels and attractions.

from the station Florence can I take a bus or another vehicle to the airport?
Hi,
you can take the Airport Express (AE) bus for a direct service, use public transport by taking Metro Line B to Zličín and then Bus 100 to the airport, or you can take a taxi or ride-share service if you want a direct transfer.
