Airports in Montana

Montana is a western state on the border with Canada. Currently, there are only small hub airports located in this state. Majority of traffic is done at Bozeman Airport, which handles about 2 million passengers per year. The other significant airport in Montana is Billings Logan Airport. Remaining Montana airports offer regional flights via airlines like Alaska Airlines, Delta and United. Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport – IATA Code – BZN (~ 1.5 M Passengers)

Bozeman Airport is a small-hub US airport located in the city of Belgrade, about 13 km from Bozeman City. Formerly known as the Field Airport, it is the largest one in Montana. Most flights from and to the airport are seasonal, with Denver and Minneapolis being the most connected cities. As for the airlines, Delta and United hold the majority of air traffic. Airport is the popular choice for people visiting Yellowstone National Park, as the distance from the airport is 140 km. Transport options from the airport include buses and shuttles, taxis and car rentals.

Billings Logan International Airport – IATA Code – BIL (~ 0.9 M Passengers)

Billings Logan Airport is the second largest Montana airport, although classified as a small-hub among US airports. It serves Yellowstone County and it’s located 3.5 km from Billings center. Cape Air, Alaska and Delta all have regular flights from the airport. Similarly to Bozeman Airport, BIL airport’s top destination is also Denver. Airport is located in southern Montana, so it can be a good choice if traveling to these parts of the US, as well as the northern parts of Wyoming.
