FAQ – bus and transport from Verona airport

I arrive late at the airport. Will it be a problem for me to get to the city?

That will not be a problem as there are buses running all day but in case you miss them all, get yourself a taxi, but be careful and negotiate the price in advance, because you might get overcharged, especially late at night.

I have an early morning departure from the airport, are there any airport hotels I can stay at?

The closest hotels to the Verona airport are:
DB Hotel Verona (4*) – 1,5 km from the airport, offers free Wi-Fi, breakfast and parking; laundry service
Hotel Saccardi & Spa (4*) – 3 km from the airport, offers free Wi-Fi and parking; laundry service
Hotel Veronesi La Torre (4*) – 1,5 from the airport, offers free Wi-Fi, breakfast, parking; fitness centre

I would like to spend one day in Verona in between flights. Is that possible?

Yes, of course. The best way to do so is to take one of the buses which take you directly from the airport to the city centre and are the most convenient way of transportation. The airport does not offer luggage storage, but alternative option is to leave your luggage at the Verona Porta Nuova train station – first 5 hours costs 6€, and every next hour is additional 0,90€.

I am continuing my journey outside Verona. Are there any direct lines from the airport to other cities?

The best option to visit nearby cities would be to go to the train station first  and  from there take the bus or train which will get you to your destination.

Can I exchange the money at the airport to pay for my transfer?

Yes, there is an exchange office (located at the Terminal T2 Arrivals) and ATMs at the airport (at T1 Departures), working 24/7, but it would be better to exchange the money before the trip and have some euros on you since the rate will be a lot higher on the spot and no currency other than euro is accepted.

Wat is verschil tussen aerobus en stadsbus nummer 199 (behalve de prijs natuurlijk)?
Wat zijn de voordelen van de pendelbus?

    • Melani   Author

      Dear Lm,

Airport shuttle is a direct bus and local bus makes stops on the way to the city centre, thus it takes more time to get to the city than taking a shuttle bus.

      Best regards!

  10. Sarah

Hello there, could you please advise me how to best get from Verona airport to Mantova by bus or train? And which buses or trains should I catch?

    • Maja

      Hi Sarah,

taking a train is the most convenient option.
However, if you choose to take a train from the airport, the nearest train station Dossobuono is about 2 km from the airport, so we suggest taking a taxi. From Dossobuono you can take a train directly to Mantova.
The other option is to take a bus to Verona city center first and then switch to a train to Mantova.

      Best,
      GBB Team

We’re flying in to Verona on the 3rd October, I’m trying to book our travel from the airport to Levico Terme. However we were hoping to spend some time in Verona before onward travel to Levico. If I book for set times on Omio.co.uk, for instance at 16:07 are we able to take an earlier shuttle bus to Verona Porta Nuova or is it set to the booked time?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    • Maja

      Hi Jodie,

in most cases, when you book a certain departure, the ticket is valid for that departure only.
However, I suggest you contact the carrier directly to check with them.

  16. LorrIne

Is there a shuttle bus available from Verona Airport to camping Bella Italia & if so how much is this per person?

    • Maja Tramontana

      Hi Lorrine,

you can reach the camping site by combining 2 bus lines.
Namely, the first thing you need to do is to catch a bus LN026 which will take you to Verona main station.
From there, you need to continue with bus line 199 all the way to Camping Bella Italia.

      Best,

  17. Diane

Is there a shuttle bus available from Verona Airport to camping hu altomincio family park, I would like to visit verona before travelling on, & if so how much is this per person?

    • Maja Tramontana

      Hi Diane,

there seems to be no direct connection between the airport and Altomicino Family Park.
However, it is possible to reach it by combining several means of transportation.
In all cases, you need to reach Verona Porta Nuova station. From there, I suggest you ask what would be the best option to reach the park. There arr buses and train that go into that direction, but none of them take you all the way to the park.
Also, consider taking a taxi as an alternative option.

      Best,
      GBB

After getting the bus front the Airport to we need to get the number 11 bus from piazza bra. Is this far from the bus station?.

      Hi Sharon,

when you arrive in Verona from the airport, the bus typically stops at the Verona Porta Nuova station. From there, Piazza Bra is about a 15 to 20-minute walk, or you can catch the number 11 bus.
