Airports in British Columbia

Majority of the larger airports in British Columbia are of course concentrated around the largest city in the province Vancouver. However, that does not mean you can not fly to other places within British Columbia Below we have listed 36 British Columbia airports which all have scheduled flights, and of course we have also included a map with all the airports in British Columbia.

Vancouver International Airport – IATA Code – YVR (~ 26 M passengers)

The Vancouver Airport is the 2nd largest airport in Canada in terms of number of passengers, the airport is located 12 km from downtown Vancouver and 7 km from downtown Richmond.  The airport is a hub for Air Canada and WestJet which serves most of Canada from here, in total more than 50 airlines have scheduled flights from main international destinations to and from the airport. The Canada Line, a rapid transit rail connects the airport with downtown Richmond and Vancouver.

Victoria International Airport – IATA Code – YYJ  (~ 2 M passengers)

Victoria Airports is the second biggest in British Columbia, the airport is located in Sidney about 22 km from downtown Victoria, the airport has scheduled flights to most larger Canadian airports. During the summer period there is a substantial increase in international departures to holiday destinations. BCTransit operates frequent departure between the airport and McTavish Transit Exchange.

Kelowna International Airport – IATA Code – YLW (~ 2 M passengers)

The Kelowna Airport is located 14 km northeast of city center Kelowna. About 10 airlines operated scheduled flights from Kelowna Airport, most departures go to Canadian cities like Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver and Toronto, but the airport also has flights to several international destinations especially during summer season. From the airport there are shuttles, to Kelowna, West Kelowna, Lake country and Vernon, During winter season there is also a shuttle to Big White Ski Resort, EBUS provides scheduled buses to cities within the Okanagan and the Lower Mainland.

Abbotsford International Airport – IATA Code – YXX  (~ 0.8 M passengers)

Abbotsford Airport is located less than 5 km from the center of Abbotsford, 26 km from Langley city and 67 km from Vancouver, the airport has scheduled flights to about 10 domestic destinations, with Calgary being the main, during summer there are a few international flights from the airport. Several shuttle and bus companies have scheduled departures to Abbotsford and larger cities in the region.

Prince George Airport – IATA Code – YYJ  (~ 0.5 M passengers)

Prince George airport is located 15 km southeast of downtown Prince George. From the airport there are numerous daily connections to Vancouver, as well as several daily connections to Calgary to destinations like Edmonton, Fort Nelson, Smithers, Terrace and Fort St. John there are several weekly departures.
