Buses Losinj

Losinj is undoubtedly one of the most popular islands among the tourists. Even though it is only 11th largest Adriatica island, 33 kilometres long to be precise, so if you are more of an adventurous type, you can practically visit all of the places by foot. The settlements of Losinj are Nerezine, Sveti Jakov, Cunski, Artatore, Mali Losinj and Veli Losinj.

Alternatively, there is always the possibility of renting a car, or taking public transport as a cheaper option. The island is very well connected both with the island of Cres (connected by a small bridge at the town of Osor) and the coast as well. During the summer, the bus lines are more frequent than the rest of the year. The bus station of Mali Losinj is located near the ferry port, around 850 metres from the town centre.

Bus routes on the island of Losinj: On the island there is a few daily buses running from Veli Losinj to Punta Kriza on island Cres, these buses stop in or near most of the small villages on the island Losinj.

If you are travelling to Mali Losinj from the mainland you have buses from Zagreb to Mali Losinj, which stops in many other cities on the island, during winter there is only a few direct buses, during summer season several. The most daily bus connection from the mainland is from Rijeka, during winter season there is 4-5 daily bus travel options from Rijeka to Mali Losinj not all are direct connections, some require a bus change or some waiting time in Cres. During summer season there are more direct bus departures.

Bus prices on the island of Losinj: The bus prices vary from 60-70 kunas per direction, depending on the route. Tickets can be bought online, on the bus station, in tourist office or directly from the driver, but make sure he issues you a printed ticket.

Bus stations and bus stops on the island of Losinj:

In Veli Losinj the bus departure from a bus stop which is located at a roundabout 500 metres (6 minutes walk) from the marina with the famous colorful houses, you can see exact GPS location of the bus stop here.

In Mali Losinj the buses departure from a bus stop / parking which is located about 850 metres (8 minutes walk from the main square Trg Republike Hrvatske, and about 400 metres from where the Catamaran departure and arrive, you can see exact GPS location of the bus stop here. Please note on Dubovica 1 street there is a road bus stop, which are served by some bus lines the GPS location is 44.529328, 14.476162.

In Poljana there are no marked bus stops at the road, so ask your landlord, or if you are staying at Camping Poljana ask at the reception, where you should wait for the bus, when going towards Poljana inform the driver where you are going so he can drop you off at the most convenient location.

In Artatore bus stops with shelters is located on each side of the main road (D100) less than 50 meters from where you can turn off to go towards Artatore. This is approximately 800-1000 metres from most of the apartments in Artatore.

In Ćunski the bus stops are located at the main road (D100) from the town centre there is about 5 minutes walk (300) meters. There is a bus stop on each side of the road one direction Mali Losinj and one direction Island Cres. this is the approximate GPS location of the stops

In Sveti Jakov there is a bus stop direction Nerezine close to the small chapel, from anywhere in town there is maximum 200 metres to the bus stop.
