Belgrade – Podgorica

The capital of Serbia Belgrade and Podgorica the capital of Montenegro are well connected by direct bus line, daily there are several departures to choose between.  The bus travel distance between the two cities is between 435-500 km depending on the travel route. As the roads are not in top condition it takes about 9 to 10 hours to travel the route with bus. In both direction there are night bus departures.

When travelling from Belgrade to Podgorica your bus will departure from the BAS bus station, which is currently the only international bus terminal in Belgrade. The bus station can be reached by city bus or tram from most parts of the town, the main train station in Belgrade, is located “next door” to the bus station.

If you are taking the bus from Podgorica to Belgrade, your bus will departure from the main bus station, which is next to the main train station in Podgorica. From the centre of town there is a distance of about 1.5 km, from most parts of town you can take city bus to get to the station.

None of the buses stop at the Podgorica airport or the Belgrade airport, if you have to travel to / from one of those locations, you have to organize your transport between the bus station and airport separately.

Other travel options from Belgrade to Podgorica:

Plane: Direct planes are operated between Belgrade and Podgorica year around, most days there are at lest two departure in each direction, the flight travel time is about 40 minutes, flights are operated by Montenegro airlines.

Train: usually there are 2 direct train departures daily between the cities, the train travel routes is around 475 km, which equals a train travel time of a bit more than 10 hours.
