Burrow Hill Cider Farm, Somerset, UK
At the foot of Burrow Hill lies a cider apple farm where the Multiverse of Madness crew filmed some of their scenes. In fact, the farm appears in the official trailer. It serves as a backdrop for the scene in which Doctor Strange (Cumberbatch) and Wanda Maximoff (Olsen) talk about the idea of a multiverse. In real life, the apple orchards provide vintage apples that the owners use to produce their cider drinks. Interestingly, the company has a 200 years old tradition of cider production.
Freemasons’ Hall, London, UK
This beautiful building in the heart of London’s theatre district – West End – is another filming location in the UK. The Hall has a 250 years long history at its site. Interestingly, the building today is the third Freemasons’ Hall that was built in this location, and it serves as a memorial to all the Freemasons that died in World War I. Also, the Hall offers guided tours to visitors. Although we still don’t know what the Hall will stand for in the movie, we can’t wait to see it!
Longcross Studios, Surrey, UK
Longcross Studios in Surrey has a track record of many major blockbusters that used it as a filming location. Prior to Doctor Strange in Multiverse of Madness, Marvel Studios used Longcross Studios as a filming location for Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor: The Dark World. Interestingly, the studio has four major stages and a manor house that appeared in several period dramas. In this case, the studio was likely used to build indoor sets or to film scenes where heavy CGI was required.
Richmond Park, London, UK
This vast park in London treasures some of the oldest trees in the country. Also, it protects the stunning woodland gardens and grasslands of the area. Richmond Park is rich in imagery throughout the seasons – the trees bloom in early spring, and their branches turn the colours of fire in autumn. Interestingly, the park also holds the status of a National Natural Reserve and is one of the eight Royal Parks in the UK.
Unspecified locations
Filming of the movie also took place at locations in Norway, Iceland and Italy, as well as in Los Angeles, New York and Vancouver (also a film set for Thor: Love and Thunder). However, the exact locations and purpose they served in the movie are still unknown.
