It offers beautiful views of the coastline. A bonus is that the airport is conveniently located near the main attractions of the town, so if you have a couple of hours to spare, take your time to stroll the streets.

If you’re visiting Vietnam, the following guide will provide you with all the necessary information about CXR.

Getting from Nha Trang Airport to Nha Trang City

Nha Trang Airport is located 35 kilometers south of Nha Trang City center

There are several transportation options available for moving around the city.

Taxis, shuttle buses, and private transfers are available close to the terminal. In addition, the hotels also offer transportation services to their guests.

As mentioned above, it is one of the busiest airports in Vietnam, so avoid getting stuck in rush hour on your way to the city.

Learn more about the possible ways of transportation in the text below!

Bus

The bus is a great budget-friendly option. As stated above, the distance between the city center and the airport is 35 kilometers. Considering that the bus makes stops along the way, the ride lasts around one hour.

The most frequent service provider is Dat Moi. This company drives the route from the airport to the city and vice versa, and is recognizable by the colors black, white, and yellow. Departure from the airport is every 30 minutes, from 5:30 am till the last flight of the day.

In need of transportation, look for bus number 18.

The price for the bus ticket is around 3 dollars (about 60,000 VND). You can get a bus ticket at the airport ticket booth or book them online, in advance.

A bus is a great option if you are traveling by yourself and want to save money since the option is cheap. On the other hand, it is a big no if you carry a lot of luggage and you need the fastest means of transport. Oftentimes, there is not enough luggage space in airport buses.

In addition, there are also local buses that go from the airport to the city center.

Taxi cabs

The taxi stands are located in the big station in front of the airport. There are a couple of local companies that drive the fixed route, from the CXR to the Nha Trang area.

Some of the companies that offer taxi services are Mai Linh, Vinasun, Quoc Te, Sun Taxi, and Asia. All companies are trusted in this area and have a history of operating throughout the years.

The ride takes around 45 minutes and the prices for this route range from 250,000 to 400,000 VND (which is around 10-17 $). Getting a taxi is an excellent choice if you’re traveling in groups of up to 4 people since it’s more convenient, and they pick you up directly at the airport.

Uber alternatives

Unfortunately, Uber hasn’t operated in Vietnam since 2018, but there are alternatives, such as Gojek, Grab, and BeTaxi.

Grab seems to be the best alternative and it operates the classic way as any other ride-sharing app. It is a great option for those who want a comfortable and economical solution.

In case you’re traveling alone and want a time-saving option, there is also a possibility of getting a Grab scooter ride. They usually cost half the price of a taxi ride and are a great way to navigate through possible traffic jams.

Car rental

Renting a car in Vietnam is a bit of a process, mainly because the companies require you to have either a Vietnamese driver’s license or an International Driving Permit.

Even if you have it, some are still hesitant about renting a car to a foreigner who doesn’t know the roads.

Luckily, there are a few local rental companies that offer the service of renting a vehicle with a personal driver included. One of them is Avis, which allows you to rent a car for around 80$ per day.

Rather than booking your transfer on-site, avoid traffic jams and hassle at the airport and book it in advance.

Transfers

Lastly, if you prefer convenient online ways of booking transport in advance, a door-to-door transfer is a great option. A professional driver will wait and welcome you at the airport when you arrive and take you directly to your accommodation in the city.
