Whether you want to spend your holidays active or relaxing, explore nature or art, there are so many things to do in Thailand that all your expectations will be met (and maybe even exceeded).

So, let’s find out what are the top 50 most popular Instagram locations in Thailand!

How did we do it?

Among different approaches to making a list of the most popular Instagram locations in Thailand, we have decided to pick sights instead of cities. That is why you will find Ao Nang Beach instead of Ao Nang city on our list. Anyway, we made a list of the most popular sights by obtaining a list of over 600 attractions from the Google Travel service.

In order to define the most popular locations, we used Google reviews to make the most objective list possible. However, we only considered the attractions with more than 5,000 reviews to get a more realistic outlook on the most popular destinations. Therefore, we got a list of 150 locations. The next thing was collecting the number of Instagram mentions (we used as many different mentions as possible) in languages of the European nationalities that visit Thailand the most. Not all possible hashtags were taken into account, as users often make mistakes when tagging a location.

The number of mentions was collected in October 2022, so the numbers will naturally increase over time. In the end, we sorted the locations according to the number of mentions and got our final list of the 50 most popular Instagram locations in Thailand.
