The Salta International Airport (SLA), also known as Martín Miguel de Güemes International Airport and El Aybal Airport is an airport serving Salta, the capital of the province of the same name in Argentina. It is located just 7 km southwest of the centre of Salta. The airport is among the 10 busiest airports in Argentina. It serves as a hub for Argentine Andes and is served by Aerolíneas Argentinas, FlyBondi and JetSmart. It has 1 terminal which handles all domestic and occasional international flights. The airport provides direct flights to the cities in Argentina like Buenos Aires, Tucuman and Córdoba, and to Bolivia.

How to get from Salta Airport to Salta 

The distance between SLA and the Salta city centre is about 9 km which is a 20-minute ride.

Bus

There is a public blue-coloured bus line 8A that you could take to get to the city centre. However, the stop called Plaza Martina Silva de Gurruchaga is situated 700 m from the airport so it is a less convenient way of transport. The trip to the city centre lasts 50 minutes and the bus stops close to 9 July Square. The ticket costs AR$19, but it is necessary to have the SAETA local card that you can buy at the Alfajores airport store.

Taxi
