Alicante Airport (ALC), also known as Alicante-Elche (because it is located in municipality of Elche) is the 5th busiest airport in Spain, according to the number of passengers. The airport is situated only 9 kilometres from the city of Alicante. In the last 10 years, passenger traffic has risen significantly, setting a record in 2016 with 12 million passengers. Almost 80 percent of all flights are international ones, mostly arriving from the UK, Norway, Netherlands and Germany.
Alicante – bus line C6 operated by Subus runs regularly to and from Alicante (to Loring-Estación bus station)

- First bus departs from the airport at 0:00 and the last one at 23:00 (check the timetable)

Elche – bus line 1A and 1B; also depart from the second floor of the airport
Train: To get to the train station take already mentioned bus line C6 that stops at Renfe train station so make sure to tell the driver to inform you on time when to get out.
Taxi services: If you have a lot of luggage on you, official airport taxi services are at your disposal 24/7 at the Arrivals terminal. The price for the taxi is approx. 19-21 €.
Transfer: If your hotel is not easily reached by foot from the bus station, book a door-to-door transfer. Drivers usually wait for you outside the Arrivals terminal with your name sign, even if your plane is late.
Renting a car at Alicante airport: Explore the city by yourself doesn’t have to be a challenge, so rent a car, either directly at the airport (Firefly, Alamo, Enterprise) or book it online.
Renting a bus at Alicante airport: If you are travelling in a large group and wish to explore the region, you should consider renting a bus prior to your arrival. Contact a bus rental agency at least a couple of weeks in advance to arrange all the details like meeting and pick-up points at the airport.
From ALC to Benidorm: You can directly go to Benidorm from Alicante by shuttle bus.

FAQ – bus and transport from Alicante Airport
Q: I arrive late at the airport. Will it be a problem for me to get to the city?
A: It won’t be a problem since the local bus lines 1A, 1B and 6 operate regularly every 20-30 minutes to Alicante/Elche. But in case you miss them all, you can always be sure that taxis will wait outside the airport.
Q: I have an early morning departure from the airport, are there any airport hotels I can stay at?
A: The closest hotel is ~3 kilometres from the airport: Hotel Areca Alicante-Elche(4*) offers free Wi-Fi and parking; laundry service
Q: I would like to spend one day in Alicante in between flights. Is that possible?
A: Of course. The best way to do that is taking the local bus which will take you directly from the airport to the bus station located in the centre. Unfortunately, there are no luggage storage facilities at the airport, however the bus station has luggage lockers (3.20€ for normal, 4.70€ for large)
Q: I am continuing my journey outside Alicante. Are there any bus lines from the airport to other cities?

Q: Can I exchange money at the airport to pay for my transfer?
A: Yes, there are several ATMs located at level 2 of passenger terminal. You can find an exchange office at ground floor, but we advise having euros on you before your flight.
