Buses Split
Split is the second biggest city in Croatia; with its cultural and historical patrimony inscribed on the UNESCO heritage list. Each year more and more tourist visit the city thanks to its clear sea, beaches and a tourist offer which gets richer every year.

Public transport in Split
Promet Split company is in charge of public transport in the city. Split public transport network covers the city area and the suburbs with 35 lines; 2 of these are night bus lines and 24 are lines covering a wider suburban areas. The schedules can be found here. Almost all the buses will take you to the centre. The two main bus stops are Pazar (Market) and the one by the Croatian National Theatre (HNK). There is also one more stop in the centre, more precisely at the seafront, by the St Francis church; this stop is the arrival/departure point for line 8 which will take you to the most popular beaches on Marjan hill.
Buses for the wider suburban area depart from the bus station at Sukoisanska street which is situated next to the main road, 5 minutes walk from the city centre. Here you can see on the map where it is. Bus nr. 37 also departs from this bus station every 20 minutes; it passes by the airport and goes to Trogir. Bus nr. 60 which goes to Omis also departs from this bus station but you can also board it at Pazar station; it runs every 30 minutes.
Public transport tickets
Single tickets can be purchased from the driver, at some bus stations (there are ticket machines) or via Promet app. A single ticket is valid 45 minutes for zone 1, 65 minutes for zone 2, 85 minutes for zone 3 and 105 minutes for zone 4.
If you go to one of the ticket machines you will have a larger selection of tickets:
- a single ticket for one trip
- a single ticket for two trips
- a ticket for two trips (block of five tickets)
Keep in mind that the tickets have to be validated. You will see the small touch screen boxes used for valitading tickets inside the bus, just behind the driver.
Main bus station in Split
The main bus staion in Split is located in the centre, next to the railway station and the ferry port. The address is 12 Obala Kneza Domagoja; the GEO location can be found here.
City bus nr. 9 and 15 will take you to the main bus station; they stop at the Trajektna luka (Ferry port) bus stop. Another option is to take any bus which goes to Pazar station and from there take a 10 minute walk to the main bus station.

International transport in Split

Airport transfer in Split
Split Airport is located in Kastel Stafilic, 6 km from Trogir and app 20 km from Split. The airport address is 1270 Cesta dr. Franje Tudmana. There are buses as well as taxis waiting for passengers just outside the terminal.
Tourist buses in Split
From 1st of April till 31 of October it is possible to join “Hop on hop off” bus tours; the bus leaves from Obala Lazareta bb, where the catamarans are docked. A hop on hop off tour lasts for 45 minutes.
There is also the so called “Hop on and shop” bus, which also leaves from Obala Lazareta bb, which will take you to City Centre One (a shopping centre). Buses depart at 15:00 and 19:00. City Centre One can also be reached by using public bus nr. 18 which will take you from the National Theatre station straight to the City Centre.

Bus rental in Split
In case you are arriving with a big group of people and you want to take a trip to Plitvice Lakes, Krka National Park, Dubrovnik or any other destination, you should consider renting a bus. You can easily book it online and in advance so you don’t have to worry about transport and possible queues when you arrive in Split.
Luggage storage in Split
Luggage storage in Split can be found inside the bus station building (address: Obala Kneza Domagoja 12). Working hours during the summer season are usually from 06:00 till 22:00 and during the rest of the year from 07:00 till 21:00.
In case there is no space left for your luggage at the bus station, you can also use the luggage storage of the railway station whicih is next to the bus station (working hours are usually from 06:00 till 22:00).
