It was directed by Aaron Nee and Adam Nee. The two of them, together with Oren Uziel and Dana Fox, co-wrote the screenplay. 

Furthermore, the cast is simply perfect for this genre. All starring roles and most supporting roles are well-known, award-winning actors. These include Sanda Bullock, Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliff, Brad Pitt, Patti Harrison and Oscar Nunez just to name a few.

Casa de Campo

Casa de Campo is a luxury residential community and a fave vacation destination for numerous celebrities such as JLo, Jay Z, Beyonce and the Kardashians. 

Originally, it was a retreat for Charles Bluhdorn, an Austrian-born American industrialist and a millionaire. However, after his death, it became the first resort in the country. Furthermore, there are more than 1700 luxury villas in Casa de Campo and the price range is $ 500,000 to $ 24,000,000. Trifle, right?

In addition, this dreamy place where celebrities come to enjoy the sun, beaches, and sip on cocktails has a 400-berth marina surrounded by numerous restaurants, shops and bars.

What’s more, the Casa de Campo includes a golf course. The best thing is that it is ranked among the world’s top 100 courses year after year. 

It is no surprise that a location as beautiful as this one was chosen as a filming location for The Lost City.

Samaná

And now let’s have a moment of silence to soak up the beauty of this enchanting peninsula surrounded by and immersed in absolute natural beauty.

This magical place of long sandy beaches and crystal clear sea is so mesmerizing that one might think it’s imaginary. Fortunately, it is very real. 

Surprisingly, this jewel of nature is one of the less-visited places in the Caribbean. On the other hand, that means that its captivating beaches, limestone caves and dense forests are still intact and well-preserved.

Furthermore, most of the film was shot in Las Terrenas de Samaná. It is a charming town located in the northwest of the peninsula. However, the entire peninsula is just as breathtaking and brimming with scenic landscapes. 

Santo Domingo

Santo Domingo is the capital of the Dominican Republic and one of the oldest cities in the Caribbean. The city was founded in 1496 by the Spanish. Moreover, it served as the first seat of Spanish colonial rule in the New World. Nowadays, it is the cultural, financial, political, commercial and industrial center of the country. 

Furthermore, the city’s core is walled, cobblestoned and contains buildings dating back to the 1500s. What’s more, the historic Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1990. In addition, the city center is brimming with historical sites. These include the Catedral Santa María La Menor, the first cathedral in the Americas. Also, it includes the Alcázar de Colón which was the first castle in the Americas.

Undoubtedly, this is a very vibrant city with rich history and culture. 

Monte Plata Province

Monte Plata Province is a province located in the central-east of the country. It has a rich history and tradition. Its most famous traditions include folk songs, dances and beliefs as well as some oral and written traditions. Furthermore, one of its main attractions, located near Bayaguana, are the amazing Salto Alto waterfalls. There are three of them and they reach more than 10 meters high. What’s more, the surrounding area is full of beautiful quiet places of intact nature and tropical vegetation. Hence, it is a perfect getaway for everyone looking for a piece of paradise on Earth. For this reason, it is no surprise that this ravishing location was picked as a setting for a movie called The Lost City.

Pinewood Dominican Republic Studios

When it comes to the scenes that just can’t be done in open locations, studios step in. In this case, it is the amazing Pinewood Dominican Republic Studios. It served as a filming location for The Lost City as well as other numerous famous movies such as Cruella, Eternals, No Time to Die and Belfast to name a few.

This 43-acre site also served as a location for the movie’s principal photography, using Stages 1, 2 and 3 as well as the Exterior tank.
