Vilnius Airport is the international airport serving the capital of Lithuania. It is located 6km south of the city centre. It’s the largest commercial airport in the country among the four ones handling the country’s passenger traffic. It serves as a base for Ryanair, Wizz Air and Small Planet Airlines. As one of the fastest-growing airports in Europe, in 2016 it served almost 4 million passengers.

How to get from Vilnius Airport to Vilnius

Shuttle bus

The company Toks provides a connection between the Vilnius bus station and the airport by a microbus. The bus stop is next to the terminal, near the Arrival Hall C.

Local bus

There are few bus lines driving on the route between the airport and the Vilnius city.

There is a special train running from Vilnius Railway Station to Vilnius Airport. The railway stop is next to the passenger terminal at the airport.

Taxi service

Vilnius Airport taxis are cheap and comfortable. You will find the taxi rank in front of the Arrivals area. They accept both cash and credit cards. Here are the most popular routes and their fees:

Renting a bus at Vilnius airport

If you’re coming in a larger group of people, consider renting a bus for your journey. Keep in mind to book it in advance, so the transfer company has enough time to advise you on the meeting point and all other relevant information.

From VNO to Minsk (Belarus): The Ecolines company operates on the route between Minsk and Vilnius Airport 4 times a day. The journey takes 3h 45min.

From Klaipeda to VNO: Vilnius Airport Express Bus takes you from the city of Klaipeda to the airport. It departs from the car park of the Akropolis shopping centre, not far away from Dubysos street. See the driving schedule.

From VNO to Palanga: The Toks transport company drives from Palanga to Vilnius and vice versa twice a day. It stops at Klaipeda and Kaunas Bus Station along the way. One ticket costs 15,12€.

FAQ – bus and transport from Vilnius airport

I arrive late at the airport. Will it be a problem for me to get to the city?

No, there are several means of transport which take you to the city centre. You can use the shuttle, train or bus lines. If you miss them all, you can always take a taxi, also at an affordable price.

I have an early morning departure from the airport, are there any airport hotels I can stay at?

Yes, the nearest hotel AirInn is only 900m away, a bit further away you can check in to Egas or Ibis Styles hotels. All of them provide a full service at a reasonable price.

I would like to visit Vilnius in between flights. Is that possible?

Of course, the airport is only 6km from the city centre and there are many options to reach it, you can choose among train, bus or shuttle. In less than 15 minutes you will be in Lithuania’s capital and feel free to look around without worrying about missing your flight since these connections are frequent throughout the day.

Can I exchange money at the airport to pay for my transfer?

Yes, you can exchange your money, but you can also pick up money at the ATM machine in the Arrivals Hall. We recommend you to bring euros with you to avoid low currency rates.

I am continuing my journey outside Vilnius. Are there any direct lines to other destinations?

From the airport you can go directly to Riga, Minsk, Daugavpils, Palanga and Klapeida. But for more destinations, you ought to reach the Vilnius Bus Station and check out your options there or simply look them up on GetByBus.
