Bus

There are no direct bus lines that connect Iguazu Airport and Iguazu Falls. If you want to take a bus, you will have to get to Puerto Iguazu first. From Puerto Iguazu, you can get a direct bus to Iguazu Waterfalls. The buses depart every 30min and the journey lasts around 40min.

Taxi

Taxi is the best option to get from IGR to Iguazu Falls. The journey should take about 16 min and the price usually varies from € 7 to € 10. You can hire a taxi at Asociación de Trabajadores de Taxis de Puerto Iguazú kiosk at the airport.

Car hire

For those who prefer to explore the area on their own and don’t want to depend on taxis and public transfers, the best option is to hire a car directly at the airport. At IGR Airport, you will find major rental agencies such as Hertz, Avis, Easy Rent, Alamo and Europcar. However, you can rent a car online and avoid the potentially long queues at the airport.

Getting from Iguazu Airport to Puerto Iguazu

The distance between Iguazu Airport and Puerto Iguazu is approximately 16 kilometres (road distance is about 20 km), which is only a 25-minute drive.

Bus

There is a bus operated by Four Tourist Travel connecting the airport to the city and nearby hotels. You can find their offices in the main hall of the Arrivals area. The bus stop is located in front of the arrivals terminal. The journey will take about 30 minutes.

There is also a bus operated by Rio Uruguay that operates between the IGR and the main bus terminal in Puerto Iguazu called Omnibus Terminal. The bus stop is located in front of the arrivals terminal and they run every 10 minutes. The journey will take about 45 minutes.

Taxi

Getting a taxi from IGR to Puerto Iguazu is possibly the best option and the quickest one. There are two kinds, the regular taxis and the remises, the “nicer ones”. 

You can hire a regular taxi at Asociación de Trabajadores de Taxis de Puerto Iguazú kiosk, or, if you prefer a remis, find the Remisses Aeropuerto kiosk. The regular taxi should cost you around € 10, whilst remises are a bit more expensive.

The journey should take about 20 minutes.

      you can rent a car in Argentina at IGR and cross to Brazil at IGU. However, returning the car in Brazil may cost you extra fees.
