Buses Podgorica
Podgorica is the capital and the biggest town in Montenegro; it has about 156 169 inhabitants. Lake Skadar, the biggest lake on the Balkans, can be found in the vicinity of Podgorica. Once the Sozina tunnel has been built, the Adriatic Sea is only half and hour ride from Podgorica.

Public transport in Podgorica
Public transport network in Podgorica consists of 11 city and 16 suburban bus lines. The company which was owned by the city went bankrupt in 2001, so today the public transport is operated by the company Gradski sabraćaj PG. The average age of the buses is 19 years. Buses run frequently in the centre but not that frequently in the wider area. Bus schedules can be seen here. Both legal and illegal taxi services with low costs represent a strong competition to the public transport.
Bus station in Podgorica
The main bus station in Podgorica is located next to the railway station; the address is Trg Golootockih zrtava 1. You can see it here. It’s a ten minute walk from the centre. Bus lines 2-3 and 6 will take you to/from the bus station. Line nr. 6 runs to Crna Gora Hotel in the very centre. Line 2-3 runs to the Old Student Hostel.
Intercity transport in Podgorica
Podgorica has good bus connections with other cities in Montenegro; there are lines to Budva, Cetinje, Herceg Novi and Niksic. The buses run every 10 to 25 minutes. Podgorica is significant for its position between the main roads to Albania, Bosnia&Herzegovina and western Europe as well as Serbia and central Europe.

International transport in Podgorica
Podgorica has much better connections with towns in the region than with European towns. Bozur doo bus company runs the lines to Sarajevo, Dubrovnik, Skopje and all the destinations in Serbia. If you travel from Croatia you can go by bus to Dubrovnik or Mostar and then change a bus to Podgorica. Another option is to take a bus at Split, Dubrovnik or Zagreb bus station to Budva or Kotor from where you can continue to Podgorica by another bus. There’s about 60 km distance from Budva to Podgorica which equals a one-hour car ride. The distance between Kotor and Podgorica is about 80 km, that is an hour and 30 minute ride. Departures from Kotor and Budva to Podgorica are regular and frequent.

Airport transfer in Podgorica
Podgorica Airport is 12 km from the city centre. It is sometimes also called Golubovci Airport because it is very close to a small city Golubovci. Here you can see on the map where the airport is.
There is no organized transport to/from the airport so the only option is to take a taxi.
