Phnom Penh International Airport – IATA code – PNH
- Approximately 250.000 passengers
Phnom Penh International Airport is an airport serving the country’s capital, Phnom Penh. It is the busiest and the largest airport in Cambodia. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the airport saw a decline in the number of passengers with only 250.000 in 2021. Around 35 airlines operate at the airport, and some of the biggest are Emirates, Cambodia Airways and Turkish Airlines. Furthermore, international flights to various countries in Asia operate through the airport. Some of those countries are Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Qatar and South Korea. The airport is only 10 kilometres away from the city, which is a very short ride. The city can be easily reached by public transport, taxi or a tuk-tuk.
Siem Reap International Airport – IATA code – REP
- Approximately 2000 passengers
Siem Reap International Airport serves the city of Siem Reap, a popular tourist destination in Cambodia. It served over 3 million passengers in 2019, but that number dropped to merely 2000 passengers in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There are around 20 airlines operating at the airport, among them Air Asia and SilkAir. International destinations include Vietnam, Singapore, China, Malaysia and Thailand. Additionally, the airport lies 8 kilometres from the city centre and 6 kilometres from the famous Angkor Wat temple. Passengers can reach both destinations by taking a taxi or a tuk-tuk.
Sihanouk International Airport – IATA code – KOS
- Approximately 17 000 passengers
Sihanouk International Airport is also known as Kang Keng Airport. It serves Sihanoukville. KOS reached its peak in the number of passengers in 2019, when it served over 1.6 million people. However, the COVID-19 pandemic affected travel and in 2021 only 17 000 passengers passed through the airport. Furthermore, domestic flights and international flights from and to China operate at Sihanouk Airport. Once at the airport, visitors can reach the city by taking a taxi. Also, some hotels might have organized shuttle bus service for their guests.
