Language Barrier
The cost and the direct route....We were over an hour late as we had to wait for a new driver at Trieste station. I've travelled quite a lot and accept that sometimes buses, trains will be behind schedule. The problem is no one on the bus had a clue what was going on as none of your staff spoke English. No, I'm not one of those foreigners who expects everyone to speak my language but if you are running a coach service where there are loads of different nationalities then you would expect some of your staff to at least have a slight grasp of what is the language of travel. When they were asked a question they just shrugged. I know at least two groups of people ended up on the wrong bus because they just nodded. Not good enough. Luckily, with the help of a passenger who spoke very good English we all managed to work out what was what. You are a tourist service. It is 2016. A grunt and a shrug of the shoulders will no longer suffice.
Driver and assistant were helpful and friendly. Travel was on time....Many bus services now offer wi-fi in the bus, and electrical outlets or USB outlets for recharging laptops and cell phones. This would be nice to have.
The big windows were great enabling us to see the counryside, and the bus was not crowded, which was ageeable...I had expected he route would be through Ljubljana but instead we skirted south of Slovenia all the way, even went around the Pula peninsula, stopping at every little town before hitting Koper. It was disappinting not to have seen Slovenia as we passed through, but I suppose I should have known about the route in advance, although there was no indication given as to the route to be followed.
