Never-ending beaches covered in soft white sand, crystal clear sea, incredible waterfalls and stunning temples are what make Thailand one of the best vacation destinations. Namely, the whole country is an absolutely gorgeous combination of nature and art.
Many famous markets and shopping malls are the place to be for perfecting your bargaining skills.
And let’s not forget about Thai cuisine. Okay, maybe not everyone is a fan of snacking on fried crickets, but who doesn’t like Pad Thai?
Whether you want to spend your holidays active or relaxing, explore nature or art, there are so many things to do in Thailand that all your expectations are likely to be exceeded.
We’ve explored this before, but there is so much to see that we just had to dive back in to discover the top 50 most popular Instagram locations in Thailand for 2024!
How did we do it?
Among different approaches to making a list of the most popular Instagram locations in Thailand, we decided to check the hashtags and mentions of popular Thai sights. We have decided to pick sights instead of cities, that is why you will find Ao Nang Beach instead of Ao Nang city on our list.
Anyway, we made a list of the most popular sights by obtaining a list of over 600 attractions from the Google Travel service.
In order to define the most popular locations, we used Google reviews to make the most objective list possible. However, we only considered the attractions with more than 5,000 reviews to get a more realistic outlook on the most popular destinations. Therefore, we got a list of 150 locations.
The next thing was collecting the number of Instagram mentions (we used as many different mentions as possible) in languages of the European nationalities that visit Thailand the most. Not all possible hashtags were taken into account, as users often make mistakes when tagging a location.
The number of mentions was collected in August 2024, so the numbers will naturally increase over time.
In the end, we sorted the locations according to the number of mentions and got our final list of the 50 most popular Instagram locations in Thailand.

Conclusion
There are many locations that stood out among the ones we’ve been writing about for the last couple of years. Some of them, such as Wat Arun and Wat Pho, maintain their strong presence as one of the top five most Instagrammed spots of Thailand.
New on the list is Madame Tussauds Bangkok, replacing old favorites such as Cape Phrom Thep.
Chatuchak Market has climbed to the number one spot in 2024, reflecting its growing popularity among travelers over time.
These changes just go to show that Thailand always has something new up its sleeve.
