How to get from Split Airport to Split
Getting from the airport to the city center is possible by several means of transportation. Below we have listed all the ways you can reach the historic city of Split.
Split Airport Bus
The airport bus between the airport and the main bus station in the city is operated by the company Pleso Prijevoz. The timetable for the bus varies depending on the time of the year.
As a rule of thumb, the bus leaves the airport 30 minutes after the arrival of a scheduled flight, and from the main bus station, the bus departs 2 hours before the departure of scheduled flights. You can check the departures and book your tickets below:
Additional information about the airport bus:
- The airport bus can be found on the left when you exit the airport terminal.
- Between the airport and the main bus station, the bus has no scheduled stops. So if you need to get off somewhere on the way, you will have to ask the driver whether it is possible or not.
- When you get out at the main bus station, you have less than 100 meters to the ferry port and 200 meters to where the catamarans for Hvar depart.
- The bus trip takes about 30 minutes.
- Due to plane delays and summer crowds, be prepared for a waiting time of up to a few hours (especially during the summer).
Local Bus
There is also a local bus service which has regular departures to and from the airport:
- Bus line number 37 drives from the main road from Trogir to Split and Split to Trogir.
- The bus departs every 20 minutes on weekdays and Saturdays and every 30 minutes on Sundays. A one-way ticket to Split costs about 20 Kunas (~ 3 EUR) and a one-way ticket to Trogir is about 13 Kunas (~ 2 EUR).
- Bus line number 38 operates on the routes Split – Kastel Stari – Resnik and Resnik– Kastel Stari – Split
In Split, the bus drives to the city bus terminal called “Sukoisan”, which is about 1 km from the city centre.
NOTE: This bus is not suitable if you want to catch a ferry or catamaran from Split. If you wish to take a bus from Split airport to ferry port, take the shuttle bus mentioned above.
The bus to Trogir drives to the main bus station in Trogir where you can change to a bus towards the island of Ciovo.
Transfer to nearby cities
If you are not up for hassling with luggage when leaving the airport and want to be taken directly to your accommodation in Split, you can pre-book a transfer to any address in Split or to other nearby destinations.
The price for a pre-booked transfer to Split varies but generally costs around 30 Euros. If you have booked a transfer, the driver will be waiting for you at the arrivals terminal. Here you can book your private transfer from airport to Split.
If you’re looking to travel to other cities from the airport, you can find a list of the most popular transfer routes and offers below:
- NOTE: The prices displayed in the table above are per person (Minibus for up to 8 Passengers) and NOT per vehicle.

However, during summertime, it is advisable to book a car online and avoid the crowd on site. You can see do that by checking car rental offers from the Split airport here.

Split airport FAQs
Nowhere, from the airport, there is a bus service only to the Split main bus station or to Trogir, as mentioned above.
The easiest way is to pre-book a transfer from the airport to your destination town or marina. The driver will then pick you up at the airport.
The company providing the transfer will monitor whether your plane is delayed or not, so you do not have to worry about this, the driver will be there when you arrive.
One option, as mentioned above, is to take the local bus nr. 37 to Trogir and then change a bus there; another option is a taxi or a pre-booked transfer.
The cheapest way is to take the airport bus to the ferry terminal in Split and from there continue by ferry or catamaran. The fastest way is to book a transfer by boat which is quite pricey but it can save you a lot of time.
By law, they have to, but creativity cannot be ruled out.
Some do but to be on the safe side it’s better to pre-arrange a transfer and then inform you need a seat for a child.
Unfortunately not, these buses do not pass by the airport.
Yes, except for extreme cases, the last airport bus will not depart before all passengers have a chance to get on the bus.
To be on the safe side, plan 2 hours to get to the ferry terminal or the bus station.
In general, Croatian law states that the only currency allowed for payment of goods and services is the Kuna but exceptions apply and this is one of the cases. The airport bus and transfer/taxi drivers will for sure accept Euros (Dollars and Pounds not in all cases).
Yes, you can take an Uber but they do not have fixed prices so it might cost you more. That’s why pre-booking a private transfer is a better option if you want to reach Split or Trogir by car.
The airport is located about 20 kilometers west of the city center.
Depending on your flight (domestic or international), but you should be there at least 2 hours before the flight.
Can I get a bus from airport to odeska
Hi Joseph, i assume you are talking about Odeska ul. in Split?
Anyway, from the airport there is only bus to the bus station in Split, from there you can then get to Odeska ul. by taxi or city bus.

What is the best route for this and the cheapest option?
Are there any buses available?
Dear Anna,
First you need to reach Split by local bus line 60 and then catch bus to Zadar from Split bus station. Here’s a link where you can get information about transportation from Zadar to Zadar Airport (https://getbybus.com/en/blog/airport-bus-zadar/)
Best regards!
Can I get the airport bus from the ferry port to the airport? I am only seeing travel options from the airport on here..
Thanks
Dear Katrina,
You can see timetable of departures from Split bus station to Split Airport on this link –> http://www.ak-split.hr/en/vozni.red/VozniRedOdlazaka.aspx

What is cheapest way to get to split from airport please
The cheapest way is the local bus which stops on the road passing the highway, this one cost about 20 Kuna (3 Euro) alternative is the airport bus which cost 30 kuna (4 Euro) this on stop in front of the terminal

Hi. Here and elswhere I read that the Split airport buses depart 30 min or some place says 20 min after a scheduled flight arrival. However, when I read the timetable for the airport buses this isn’t true. I will be arriving on a Sunday at 9:30 am and according to timetable on Bus Croatia there is a bus at 9 am and the next one at 10:30 am. I don’t know what to believe – I want to get on the 11 am ferry to Vis. Is there more than one bus service running between Split and Split airport?
Dear Birgitta,
Official shuttle bus from Split Airport does depart 20 min after a scheduled flight arrival. It says the same on the official website of the bus company (http://www.plesoprijevoz.hr/en/page/timetable).
Best regards!
Melani, GBB Team
Hi. Thanks for your reply and I see it states 20 min after arrival but there is no timetable there. Last time I arrived in july 2017 I had to wait for a very long time for a bus and eventually (after about 45 mins and no bus in sight) took a taxi instead which was expensive and I missed the ferry anyway – 7 hrs to next ferry. I wanted to be sure this time and stop worrying (its a different flight and ferry this time) or preorder a private transfer.
I would have felt better with a timetable 🙂
If I use the pop-up on this page “Find your bus” I get this timetable
https://getbybus.com/en/bus-routes/split-airport-1613/split-1217/2018-06-10
Which is confusing…. as you see no bus between 9:00 and 10:30 – I am arriving at 9:30
Also timetable here http://www.ak-split.hr/dolasci-u-split/ has no bus at 9:50
Dear Birgitta,
As You can see, these tickets cannot be bought online and the timetable is generated and it gives approximate time of departures. I suggest You ask at the Info desk at the airport for shuttle bus departures as soon as You land. If You think You won’t make it in time to Split, You can always wait for the local bus outside the airport (it departs every 20 mins:00, 20, 40)
Best regards!

Hi,
i am arriving split airport at around 22:15 (10:15PM).
where do i get the bus from split airport to sibenik??
and where can i get all the information regarding about bus times when i am in croatia as i cannot find it online.
would really appreciate it.
thank you and regards
Dear Angel,
Unfortunately, there is no direct bus from Split Airport to Šibenik, but You can take a bus from Trogir to Šibenik. To reach Trogir, take a local bus 37 which passes near the airport and You can buy the ticket on board (make sure to go the opposite direction of Split). Trogir is 10 min drive from Split Airport and the last stop is the bus station in Trogir where the bus for Šibenik departs from. Here’s the link for online ticket from Trogir to Šibenik https://getbybus.com/en/bus-trogir-to-%C5%A1ibenik

Good Morning,
My flight is very late, I arrive around 00:30. Are there any late buses to Split or I would need to take taxi?
Kind regards,
Paula
Dear Paula,
The last shuttle bus departure is at 23:00, however You can catch local bus line 37 which stops on the road across the airport. There are two night departures, at 00:00 and 02:00, so I think You can only catch the one departing at 02:00. It takes around 5-10 minutes from Trogir (where the bus departs from) to the airport. You can buy the bus ticket on board.
Best regards!
Melani, GBB Team
We arrive at 23:20 pm on 25/08. What time do buses leave for split city centre?

Hello . . . I used your instructions to get the bus into Split from the airport. The Pleso bus is located to the LEFT as we come out of the airport (not the right as indicated in the website instructions and the picture). PLEASE CHANGE YOUR INSTRUCTIONS.
My husband and I ran out to the city bus stop, looking to the right . . . not seeing any buses. The people at the bus stop told us to go back, and the buses to Split were still there thankfully. We were quite upset by the time we got to the bus, thinking we would be left behind.
Dear Gwen,
thank you for your remark, we will certanly check that information and update the post.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi,
What is the easiest and cheapest way to arrive at a hotel in Vrboska from Split airport?
Dear Suulee,
If you’re referring to Vrboska on Hvar Island, you need to take a shuttle or local bus from the airport to Split Bus Station. Once you get there, go to ferry port which is right across the bus station. Then take a ferry/catamaran to Stari Grad on Hvar and from there take a local bus to Vrboska. Total price of this journey should cost around 100-120 kn.
Best regards,
Melani GBB Team
Hi can i get a bus from split city centre to go out towards the mountains as we wish to go hiking
Dear Dean,
You can reach Mosor mountain with a local bus line 28 which departs from Sukoisanska station in Split. Ticket price is 17kn and it can be purchased from the driver. You should get off in Sitno Donje and start your hike there.

Hello,
I will be arriving on the 29th at 20:15. Is it correct that there is a gap between the buses at that time of night? And they are not every 20minutes.
Thankyou
Dear Meg,
shuttle buses vary depending on the arrival time of the flights, they usually leave the airport 30 minutes after the arrival of a scheduled flight.
Therefore, (around) 8:30 pm departure could be the last one, but I suggest you double-check at the airport. The driver usually waits for some reasonable time passengers need for luggage pick up and passport control.
Regarding local buses, their last departure is around midnight.
Best regards,
Maja, GBB Team
Hi there,
We have a flight at 10am from Split airport. Are there any shuttle bus direct to airport that leaves from city centre? How often do the shuttle bus depart from city centre? We will be travelling next month. Thank you.
Dear Deepak,

Is it possible to go by bus from split airport to novalja, pag island. The flight arrives to the airport at 6 pm the 10th of july.
Dear Agnes,
There’s no direct bus to Pag from Split Airport nor you can take bus from Split or Trogir Bus Station at that hour. There’s one departure from Trogir at 8am and three departures from Split, the last one departing at 16:30. My suggestion is to stay in Trogir or Split overnight and depart the next day. You can check all bus departures on https://getbybus.com/en

Hello, I get to Split Airport on Tuesday 18th June around 18:00. My final destination is Tucepi. What is the best way to travel by bus, from Split Airport to Tucepi? And how much will each journey cost me, please? (One-way ticket for 2 people).
Also, how often do the buses run and how long will my journey be. Sorry to have so many questions, it’s my first time travelling to Split, and although this website is great, I just want to double check. Although it looks like there’s a bus Split Airport – Split town, then I will have to take another bus from Split town to Makarska.
Dear Alma,
The last departure for Tucepi is at 16:00, at least what’s available on Getbybus website. For more options, I suggest consulting info desk at Split Bus Station. The journey time from Split to Tucepi is around 1 hour and 30 mins.
Best regards,
Melani GBB Team
Dear Alma,
You can see all departures from Split Bus Station to Tucepi on the following link (https://getbybus.com/en/bus-split-to-tucepi), as there is no direct link from Split Airport. The best way is to take a shuttle bus from Split Airport to Split Bus Station and then a bus to Tucepi.
Best regards,
Melani GBB Team

We`re arriving saturday in july and have to go from Split airport to Kastela Luksic. It looks like we can take bus 37 in direction of Split, that departs every 20 min. Is this correct? How far from the airport itself is the busstop? …we`re travelling with 5 kids 🙂
Dear Marie,
yes, that is correct, bus line 37 stops in all 7 Kastela, including Luksic.
The bus stop is on the main road which is outside the airport building area, so you will need to walk a few minutes to get to it.
Just look for the nearest main road that passes near the airport and you should be able to spot the bus station.
Best regards,
Maja, GBB Team
We are arriving on 7/8/19 and want to travel to Tisno, how would we best do this please?

Good Afternoon
I am planning a trip to Medjugorje in January 31st, 2020, but first I need to get a bus from the Airport Int’ Split to the Main Bus Station in City Center my question is: Are there busses from the International Split Airpot to the City Center at last hours nights? It is because my flight will arrive at 7:15 pm and also of course I need to take another bus in the Main Bus Sation to Medjugorje. Also I have to comeback in February 4th early morning to take my flight in Split to return to Rome.
Please I need your help if is there a special web page to get or buy my e-ticket?
Thanks and sorry for my bad English.
Yours,
Luis
Dear Luis,
You can either take shuttle bus which are scheduled to depart 30 minutes after the flight arrival and will take you directly to the Main Bus Station. Or you can take a local bus line 37 which passes by the airport but the last stop in Split centre is Sukoisanska Bus Station (approx. 1km from the Main Bus Station). More details can be found in the blog post.
Best regards,

Dear team,
We are arriving at Splitt airport on Saturday PM and will travel to a hotel in Podstrana, what is the easiest way by local bus or other ways.
Any advice welcome
Kind regards Mark
Dear Mark,
The best way to get to Podstrana from Split Airport is to catch first bus line 37 from the airport to Split. Get off at the last stop and then transfer to bus line 60 (departs every 30 minutes) which passes through Podstrana.
Best regards,
Melani GBB Team
what is the most economical way to get from the Split ferry terminal to the airport and how long would it take? Thanks
Dear Ovsa,
The ferry terminal is located exactly opposite to the main bus station where you can catch shuttle bus to the airport.

Hi I am arriving into split airport at 09;30 am on a sunday 04/09/20…will bus 37 run me into trogir bus station? and do i then have to walk over a foot bridge into the town?
Dear Susan,
yes, the bus line 37 will take you to the main bus station in Trogir. In order to reach the Old Town, you need to cross the bridge. Walking to the Old Town from the bus station takes about 5 minutes.
Best regards,
Maja GBB Team
Hi, because of social distancing on the buses, are they still running in october this year?
Dear Susan,
given the current situation about COVID-19, the buses should operate regularly, but none of us can be certain about the situation in the future.
We suggest you keep checking out the official airport website as your travel date approaches.
Best regards,
Maja GBB Team
Hi! I am travelling to Aplit on 16th August. What is the best way to get to the city centre from the airport? Thanks in advance!
Dear Emily Mae,
the fastest and most convenient way to get to the city centre of Split is by using an airport shuttle. The driver waits for the passengers in front of the terminal building.
The shuttle bus will take you directly to the main bus station in Split which is located about 5 minutes from the Old Town.
Best,
Maja GBB Team
Hi guys, can I carry my 6 month old on my lap on one of the standard direct coaches/bus to split old town from the airport? Please advise
Dear Jamie,
that shouldn’t be a problem, but I would still recommend sending an inquiry directly to the bus company.
Best regards,
Maja GBB Team
Hi there, We are arriving on sep 3rd at 10.20 a.m. Do you reckon we will make the 11.30 ferry to Hvar? How long does it normally take to get through security? Maybe its longer in covid times? and how long does it take to get to the ferry port by taxi please?
Thanks a mill in advance,
Corrina
Dear Corrina,
I’m afraid there is a chance you won’t catch the ferry, but you could also arrive just in time to board it.
After landing at 10:20 (not to mention eventual delays) add to it at least 15 minutes of passport control and luggage pick up (and as you said, it might be longer due to COVID).
If you catch the next possible shuttle bus, you might catch the ferry. The biggest problem is the traffic. In the perfect conditions, you might arrive just in time, but delays and traffic jams between the airport and Split ferry port/bus station are unfortunately often and big during the summer season.
However, September is not the peak season, so I hope you will get there on time.
Have a nice trip and wish you the best of luck!
Regards,
Maja, GBB Team
Will I be able to pay for the shuttle bus by bank card?
Dear April,
of course, just book your ticket on the following link: https://getbybus.com/en/bus-split-airport-to-split
This way you can pay for the shuttle by cc in advance and have one less thing to worry about when you land.
Safe travels!
GBB Team
Dear getbybus team,
Thanks for your excellent info. I arrive on Wednesday at 20:00 at Split airport and need to get to Stobrec area in Split. Do you think I would be able to get the shuttle to the city centre and then make it in time to transfer to bus line 25 from split bus station to stobrec at 21:30? It looks like that is the last/one bus to that area. Or do you maybe have other suggestions to get to Stobrec?
Hi Jeanine,
in order to get to Stobreč, you need to get to Split first. This can be done by shuttle bus or city bus.
If you decide to take a shuttle bus (a faster option), it will take you to the main bus station in Split. Right across is a city bus station where you can wait for bus no 60.
If you decide to take a city bus from the airport (no 2 or 37), it will take you to the main bus station for city buses (not the same location as the previously mentioned bus station) where you can switch to a bus line 60.
Best,
GBB Team
I would like to get from Split airport to Marina Agana using public transport (not booking a transfer car) only. Is this possible & if so, what is the best route? I’m guessing I’ll need to get the main bus station in Split & then a connecting bus via Trogir to Marina Agana?
Hi Adrian,
it is possible to travel that distance with a bus. Here is the most convenient option.
First, you need to take a bus to Trogir main bus station (bus line 37 or 38). From there, you can continue by any intercity bus that goes into the direction of Sibenik or Zadar.
The only thing you need to make sure is to ask the driver upon entering the bus if he can make a stop in Agana for you to exit (in 99% cases they do this).
You can also check the departures for these bus lines as well as book your tickets online on the links provided above.
Best,
GBB Team
Is there a direct bus from Split airport to Dubrovnik?
Hi Francois,
as for buses, sadly no, so typically you should transfer in Split city.
Best,
Marija, GetByBus Team
Hi I’m arrives in Split in August at 10:30 p.m. Is there still a transfer to the city at this time?
Hi Kate,
you will have several transfer options. You can go by bus line 37, as it’s available until 11:50 p.m., or even by private transfer.
Best,
Marija, GetByBus Team
