| The reading lamp was working on-and-off. My neighbour was often listening to music from his mobile phone, which was irritating. Maybe there should be a sign for people not to disturb each other. Also, the bus did not stop between Rijeka and Zagreb, which was fine as it is not a long trip, but maybe he could have announced it beforehand in case someone relied on the stop (there was a stop when I travelled from Zagreb to Rijeka) |

| Smooth trip, safe driving, good social distancing. Had an amusing interaction with ticket-taker--it was the first day of lockdown in Croatia, so no restaurants were open. He and the bus driver did a great job of locating a stop at which both a small grocery store and bakery were open, enabling hungry bus passengers to get a bite to eat. I shared my cheese with the ticket-taker and he found it amusing that I bought a tiny bottle of Sljivovica plum brandy, to sip during the last part of the trip. He said, "It kills corona!" |
| A group of young kids (age 11-12) boarded the bus toward the end of the trip, and none had masks on. I had to shout out, "Please wear your masks," so they put them on after they reached their seats in the back, but one had not brought a mask and thus traveled 20 km or more without containing his micro-droplets and protecting other bus passengers. The ticket-taker was not helpful in enforcing the countrywide mask-wearing rule, which is concerning because we know asymptomatic kids are a source of viral spread, and enclosed buses are a dangerous environment for avoiding airborne virus. |
