Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport, also known as Makassar Airport, is an airport in Makassar (a city formerly known as Ujung Pandang), the capital of Sulawesi Island. It is situated 20 km northeast of Makassar city center. Namely, the airport is among Indonesia’s top busiest airports and the main gateway for flights to Eastern Indonesia.
There are a dozen airlines operating in the airport which is also a hub for Garuda Indonesia, Batik Air and Lion Air. Hasanuddin Airport is also a base for the Indonesian Air Force. The airport has one terminal for both domestic and international flights.
