Dortmund Airport (DTM) is a smaller international airport located just 10 km east of Dortmund in Germany. It offers transportation to over two million passengers every year. The main airlines that you can find there are low-cost options such as easyJet, Ryanair and Wizz Air.

How to get from Dortmund Airport to Dortmund

Public bus

The AirportExpress bus is a direct connection between the airport and Dortmund Central Station. In one direction the journey usually takes 25 minutes. The price for a single ticket is around €9, for children under the age of 14 it’s €2, and children younger than six travel for free. You can buy the tickets from the bus driver.

Train

A second option of public transportation is by train. To get to the nearest railway station, you have to take the AirportShuttle to Holzwickede station which will cost you around €3.

  • Dortmund Airport is included in the Rail&Fly service of the Deutsche Bahn so if you buy one of those you can get a free ride with the AirportShuttle to the station.
