The airport was named after the 21st president of Brazil. It is located in Federal District, only about 2 km from Brasilia downtown. The airport offers bus lines no. 113, 113.1 and 113.2 that operate directly from the airport to the city and vice versa. These buses take passengers to the central parts of Brasilia such as Hotel Sectors North and South, as well as the Brasília Convention Center.
