Belgrade Nikola Tesla airport is located 18 km west of Belgrade center. It is the busiest airport in Serbia and it handles more than 5 million passengers on yearly basis.
Travelling to and from the airport is easy, and there are a few options to choose from.
Airport bus – the cheapest and easiest way to travel between the airport and the city center. In just 30 minutes you will reach Slavija Square, one of the major city squares and the central traffic route where all types of public transport services meet. The airport bus is called A1 line and has two stops on the way: the train station and Pariske Komune street. This minibus goes every 20 minutes during the day, and every hour after 19:30 (7:30 PM), during the night as well. The ticket can be purchased in the bus and the price is 300 RSD (2.5 EUR) but make sure you have local currency, Serbian dinars because other currencies are not accepted.
- If you have a lot of luggage, it can be a hassle to use the airport bus, as the space inside the bus is limited, and there is no additional storage.
- The bus departure point is in front of the airport building (literally under the main entrance- the underpass)
- If you need to get to the main bus station, you should hop off at the train station where the bus regularly stops, as the two stations are conveniently located next to each other.
- The bus has the same route on going from the city center to the airport, so you can hop on at the same stops.
Bus line 72 – If you need to reach Zeleni Venac area in the centre of Belgrade. It takes approx. 30-40 minutes to get there and the bus departs every half an hour. The price for the ticket is 150 RSD (1.2 EUR) if bought on the bus, and just 89 RSD (0.7 EUR) if bought at the newspaper stand. → timetable
Bus line 607 – This line operates from Surčin to New Belgrade and it makes a stop at Nikola Tesla Airport. Buses depart several times a day and you can check here the timetable.
Transfer: If you wish to have more comfort, or you have a lot of suitcases, you can always book the door-to-door transfer to your accommodation in Belgrade area.
- If you wish to pre-order a transfer, you can do that through a transfer company, the driver will wait for you in the arrivals area with a name sign, and don’t worry if your plane is late, the transfer company will monitor your flight arrival.

Taxi services – divided into 6 zones around the city, the taxi service can cost you from 14 to 60 EUR depending on your destination. To avoid being scammed please do the following: Go to the TAXI INFO desk near the exit of the airport building. Tell the staff where you want to go (address or hotel / accommodation name) and they will calculate the exact price and hand you the voucher, with the specified amount. They will also show you where the available taxis are parked, so that you get in the right one.
Renting a car at Nikola Tesla airport – all the major car rental companies, like Sixt, Avis, Budget, etc. have their offices at Nikola Tesla airport, along with some local rent-a-car companies, here you can compare the terms and conditions as well as the price. All car rental agencies are located at the international arrivals area at Terminal 2.
Renting a bus at Nikola Tesla airport – if you are a large group arriving to the airport, you might consider renting a bus prior to your arrival. Buses are offered by several bus rental companies in the area.
