Hannover Airport Bus
Hannover Airport (HAJ) is the international airport serving the city of Hannover, situated in Langenhagen, 11 kilometres north of Hannover. In terms of the number of passengers, Hannover Airport is the ninth busiest airport with around 6 million passengers annually. The airport serves mainly as a base for companies like Germanwings and SunExpress Deutschland.
How to get from Hannover Airport to Hannover
Train
Hannover Airport was once linked to the city centre by a shuttle bus, but was eventually replaced by the S5 S-Bahn train, which turned out to be a lot faster option:
- The airport train station is situated in Terminal C and it is easily accessible by escalators and lifts
- S5 S-Bahn train runs every half an hour, from 04:00 to 01:30. The journey to the central train station in Hannover (Hauptbahnhof) takes approx. 18 minutes.
- The price of a single ticket will cost you 3.4€ (to the main train station). You can also buy a daily ticket for 6.8€ and drive around for unlimited number of times during the day – don’t forget to validate them in ticket machines.
Local bus
The bus line 470 operates from Hannover Airport to Langenhagen Zentrum station every half an hour (every hour on Sundays) → full timetable. You will find the bus stop between Maritim Airport Hotel and multi-storey car park.
Taxi services
Official airport taxis are located in front of all terminal exits. The journey to the city centre is going to cost you between 25 and 30 euros, depending on your destination.

You have train from Hannover HBF to Bad Oeynhausen, so first you will have to travel from the airport to the HBF, you can do this e.g by S-Bahn 5.

Since there is no direct line to your destination then the best option is to go by S5 train from Hannover Airport to Hannover Hauptbahnhof and then take metro line U8 and exit at Hannover Am Mittelfelde metro stop. Once you get out, there’s additional 6 min walk. Total cost of the trip would be around €7. Trains run approximately every 20 minutes.

You can catch S-bahn line S5 from the airport to Hanover Central Station. Then transfer to S3 line and get off at Hannover Karl-Wiechert-Allee. From there catch bus line 123 to Hannover Nobelring bus stop (2-minute walk from your accommodation).
If you opt for a taxi, you can find taxi stand in front of the airport terminal.

if you want to get to the place where Intershutz 2022 takes place by public transport, we suggest the following:
1. Take an S5 train from the airport to its last station (Hannover Hauptbahnhof)
2. Then, switch to bus no. 8 which will take you to Messe/Nord station. From there, you are left with a 10-minute walk.
