FAQ – bus and transport from Varna Airport

I arrive late at the airport. Will it be a problem for me to get to the city?

No, it shouldn’t be. The line 40 runs every day every 15 minutes, but it you don’t manage to catch one of the departures, you always have taxis at the taxi rank at your disposal. One way ride won’t cost you more than 20€.

I have an early morning departure from the airport, are there any airport hotels I can stay at?

Of course, there are few hotels to choose from, but all of them are approximately 6km away from the airport, so you need to take a taxi to take you there. Verna Palace Hotel, which offers 50 rooms for rent is the favourite one among tourists, has a good beach access as well. Hotel Mirage offers bed and breakfast service at low cost, so if you want to save some money, this is the place for you. Bellevue is another option, if you’re looking for a quiet holiday away from the actual resort. The room (and hotel in general) is lovely, clean and spacious, pool is nice and dining is delicious.

I would like to visit Varna in between flights. Is that possible?

Yes, the journey to city centre from the airport takes only 20 minutes, and the bus 409 departs every 15 minutes in both directions, so you won’t have trouble with exploring the city and making it to your next flight.

Can I exchange money at the airport to pay for my transfer?

Yes, you can exchange your money, but there is also one bank office that provides financial services which can be found close to the check-in area. The Exchange offices are located in the public area of the departure lounge, in the arrival lounge and the baggage claim area.

I am continuing my journey outside Varna. Are there any direct lines to other destinations?

The bus line 409 drives, other than to Varna city centre, to the Golden Sands resort. But if you want to visit some other place in the region, you have to go to Varna Central Station and check out the connections there.
