Strasbourg Airport is a minor international airport located in Entzheim, 10km west of the city of Strasbourg. It operates mostly seasonal and charter flights to several European destinations. In 2015 it handled almost 2 million passengers.

How to get from Strasbourg Airport to Strasbourg

Airport shuttle

A shuttle navette connects the airport and the Baggersee tram station in the city.

  • The shuttle departs every 30min in the period from 05:10 a.m. to 11:15 p.m.
  • The journey takes 12min.
  • One way ticket costs 5,10€.

From the Baggersee station, take the tram line A to get to the city centre.

Taxi services

In order to avoid the crowd in public transport, you can take a taxi for a fare of approximately 25,00€ to reach the city centre. You can book your taxi online.

Transfer

If you don’t like using the public transport and hesitate to take a taxi, consider booking a private transfer which will wait for you on the airport and take you to your hotel or wherever you need to go. The transfer company will send a professional driver to pick you up. You can even pre-order a child safety seat if you’re travelling with a child.

Renting a car at Strasbourg airport

For those of you who would like to reach the city and explore the area on their own, the best option is to rent a car directly at the airport. There are several car rental companies there, such as Avis, Europcar, Sixt, Enterprise and few others. Save time and book your car online.

Renting a bus at Strasbourg airport

For larger groups of passengers, we recommend to rent a bus at the airport. However, it is better to book it online, so the bus rental companies have enough time to inform you on the meeting point and all other information.

I arrive late at the airport. Will it be a problem for me to get to the city?

No, Strasbourg’s airport shuttle drives almost all day long, but in case you miss the shuttle train, you can take a taxi to reach the city centre.

I have an early morning departure from the airport, are there any airport hotels I can stay at?

Yes, the nearest hotel Pere Benoit is only 150m away from the airport. You can also choose among Roi-Soleil Holtzheim Hotel, Au Boeuf or Ibis Sud La Vigie Hotel a bit further away. They offer cozy accommodation, meals and free Wi-Fi for a reasonable price.

I would like to visit Strasbourg in between flights. Is that possible?

Yes, the airport is close to the city of Strasbourg so you can reach it in only 12 min. The cheapest way to do so is to take the airport shuttle which departs twice an hour (every 30 min). But another option is to take a taxi which will cost you about 25€ per way.

Can I exchange money at the airport to pay for my transfer?

No, but you can pick up money at the ATM machine in the Arrivals Hall. We recommend you to bring euros with you to avoid low currency rates.

I am continuing my journey outside Strasbourg. Are there any direct lines to other destinations?

    How does one travel from Strasbourg bus station (XER) TO Strasbourg airport (SXB)? All the information posted on line is for transport FROM the airport into the Strasbourg city.
